City Walk: The Last Kings of Old Shanghai
Friday, March 3 | 2-5 PM
Meet at Tiantong Road Metro Station, Exit 3 (Open to students only)
Brought to you by the Office for Community Engaged Learning, this walk traces the epic story of two family dynasties, the Sassoons and Kadoories, whose wealth and influence vastly shaped urban Shanghai’s landscape for more than a century. We will explore their legacy through stories of innovation, generosity, turmoil, and architecture, including visiting the interiors of some iconic buildings!
There is no cost for this event but participants are required to submit a brief reflection journal post-walk and have a chance to participate in two more city walks this semester.
RSVP by Wednesday, March 1!
